Sunrise Technologies is pleased to announce a new Microsoft Dynamics AX customer, Gonzales Enterprises (DBA Fifth Sun Apparel, www.5sun.com) in Chico, CA.  Fifth Sun is a privately owned design and distribution company of licensed and private label apparel to major retailers such as Target and Wal-Mart, as well as niche stores like Hot Topic and Forever 21. The company’s rapid growth led to a need for a robust ERP solution that would manage its complex supply chain needs and allow it to continue expanding.

Fifth Sun selected the Microsoft Dynamics AX solution from Sunrise Technologies due to its natural fit within the apparel industry.  Microsoft Dynamics AX offers a powerful ability to manage the complexity of style, color, size, and configuration of an apparel item.  Fifth Sun will benefit from the broad range of functionality that Microsoft Dynamics AX has to offer, from financials management through supply chain planning and distribution.  Financial performance of internal and external projects can be analyzed quickly and costs can be broken down and evaluated by line.  Inventory can be traced through purchasing and production, with real-time visibility into inventory status.  Fifth Sun will use Microsoft Dynamics CRM in conjunction with Microsoft Dynamics AX to manage its sales activities.  EDI processes, which are critical in the apparel industry when working with large retailers, will be managed by the Data Masons EDI solution for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

“After considerable time and research we decided that AX was the logical choice to replace our current legacy system.  In addition to eliminating our many patches AX provides for greater visibility and management though the work flow functionality.   Furthermore, the user interface is in a very familiar format.  We look forward to streamlining our reporting and quickly getting the relevant information necessary to make business decisions,” states BJ LaRossa, Executive Vice President of Fifth Sun Apparel.

“We are very excited to add Fifth Sun to our growing list of apparel companies using Microsoft Dynamics AX,” states John Pence, President of Sunrise Technologies.  “Microsoft Dynamics AX is a perfect fit for Fifth Sun, and the vertical expertise that Sunrise can bring in the implementation will insure a successful project.”
