Outdoor retailer and their Microsoft partner recognized for early action during COVID-19 crisis.

Winston-Salem, NC; On Wednesday, July 22, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella delivered his keynote speech for Microsoft Inspire, Microsoft’s annual, global partner event, highlighting how Patagonia and their partner, Sunrise Technologies, were a “great example” of leveraging Dynamics 365 cloud technology early in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patagonia was one of the first retailers to close its brick and mortar stores at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. Going further, they made the difficult decision to also shut down its warehouse eCommerce operations as an extra safety measure for their employees. Patagonia was able to use capabilities inside Dynamics 365 Supply Chain, like Distributed Order Management and mobile Point-of-Sale, to quickly shift operations and safely fulfill orders and serve customers.

John Pence, President and founder of Sunrise Technologies said, “All of us at Sunrise are proud and humbled by the efforts of Patagonia, and many of our other customers, during these extraordinary times.  We continue to support their efforts to find a safe path forward for their employees, customers, and business stakeholders.”
